Robinís first degree was in Business Administration studying at one of the top five business schools in the UK at Cardiff University. He studied all aspects of business including Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Analytical & Computer Based Methods, Financial Management, Business Policy & Management and Quantitative Analysis & Research Methods. After graduating in 1997, Robin spent the following 6 years working in the pensions, investment and employee benefits industry.

Robin began his formal studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2003 when he enrolled on the original 5-year degree programme offered by Middlesex University. That course was developed in conjunction with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, whereby this collaboration was the first of its kind to be validated in the UK and was modelled on the curriculum studied in China. This is why Robin was awarded the dual qualifications from both Middlesex and Beijing universities.

All of Robinís tutors at Middlesex University were either sent from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine or native Chinese who qualified to doctorate level in China, and are now based in the UK. These tutors included both the President and Vice-President of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) Dr Jidong Wu and Dr Ming Zhao Cheng. As part of this course, Robin was required to spend half his final year in China training at two of the largest TCM hospitals in Beijing. The hospitals most prominent physicians tutored him on the latest techniques and treatment methods used in China today, whereby he gained extensive experience working in the cardiology, neurology, respiratory, gynaecology, dermatology, gerontology and paediatric wards.

Robin graduated with a first class honours degree and was awarded a special prize for excellence in TCM studies by the ATCM, who have also expressed interest in publishing his dissertation on Acupuncture and Hypertension.

Robin also gave a talk introducing TCM to the doctors and respiratory team at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, Surrey. The talk was aimed at illuminating what TCM is, providing a brief history and some empirical evidence on itís benefits in treating respiratory diseases. The talk particularly focused on cough, wheeze/asthma, breathlessness and supportive care for cancer patients.

Robin is currently providing acupuncture treatment at the Royal Surrey County Hospitalís Fountain Centre, a charitable organisation that provides supportive care to the cancer patients treated in St. Lukeís Cancer Centre. He also uses this beautiful venue for his own private clinic and can be contacted
